BOSTON- On Thursday October 9, the team behind Boston’s Runway Ball announced their much-anticipated theme for season three of the annual winter showcase gala.

“This year we will be exploring the edgy and creative interpretations of a‘Dark Romance,’” revealed show producer Amanda Vargus. “We’re super excited to execute our vision in bringing this theme to life.”

Returning to the Grand Ballroom at the Hilton Boston Park Plaza on Sunday, December 14th for its third consecutive year, The Runway Ball is expecting 500+ attendees, with proceeds once again benefitting St. Jude Children’s Hospital of New England.

Co-producer Matt Ribaudo said -now with theme locked in- the team of Vargus, Jimmie Espo, and himself will be making several other big announcements in the coming weeks as Season 3 of The Runway Ball continues to develop.

“The beauty of this show,” he explained. “Is that guests receive a different experience each year. If you look at what we did Season 1 with our ‘Hollywood at Night’ theme versus what we did last year with ‘A Winter’s Dream’.. this definitely isn’t a rinse and repeat production.”

Ribaudo, Vargus, and Espo plan to reveal designers, sponsors, musicians, and performers in the near future, while giving the city a little bit of a look behind the scenes as a ‘Dark Romance’ comes together.

“We’re two months out,” Vargus emphasized. “It’s go time.”

In it’s first two seasons, The Runway Ball has established itself as Boston’s must see show celebrating community, culture, and fashion.

Key moments from the 2023 and 2024 Runway Ball shows have been: being awarded a Guiness World Record (longest bow ribbon ever recorded at a fashion show); showcasing 16 different independent Massachusetts designers; featuring18 different New England based musicians; highlighting 273 local designers on the ‘Designer Wall of Recognition’; and honoring 23 different brands and businesses through interactive activations.
