BOSTON- Boston’s ultimate evening of high fashion, society, and philanthropy, The Runway Ball, has officially announced a highly calculated gap year for the 2026 season.
Rather than hosting its traditional annual December gala, the visionary production team of Amanda Vargus, Matt Ribaudo and Jimmie Espo are choosing to step away from the calendar for 2026.
They will use this deliberate intermission to quiet the noise, quietly restructure, and meticulously orchestrate an unprecedented luxury experience for an elite, high-profile return in 2027.
Co-produced by the power trio of BostonMan Magazine, Wave + Woven, and The 617 Event Group, the annual gala has firmly cemented its status as New England’s most exclusive fashion event. Year after year, the city’s top tastemakers, luxury designers, and societal elite have gathered inside the historic Grand Ballroom at the Hilton Boston Park Plaza.
They come to experience an evening defined by avant-garde runway showcases, premium brand activations, and unmatched networking.
Organizers emphasize that the decision to pause this year is a mark of prestige and uncompromising standards, not a slowdown.
Following the massive acclaim of 2025’s “Dark Romance” showcase, the producers refuse to deliver anything less than spectacular. The 2026 gap year provides the creative team the luxury of time. They will use it to cultivate new global partnerships, secure world-class design talent, and completely reinvent the blueprint of luxury event production for the 2027 comeback.
While the runway may pause, the event’s high-impact philanthropic legacy remains uncompromised.
The Runway Ball will continue its deep, prestigious commitment to supporting St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and Toast to St. Jude.
Private planning and curated charitable initiatives will carry on quietly behind the scenes during the hiatus, ensuring the 2027 show returns with even greater philanthropic force.
For the inner circle of designers, patrons, luxury sponsors, and elite security personnel updates during this quiet period will remain highly curated. Exclusive announcements and early invitations for the grand 2027 season will be shared through private channels and official editorial updates on the BostonMan Magazine and Boston’s Runway Ball platforms.
