“THE ONLY THING THAT IS CONSTANT IS CHANGE.”
I’m not sure who coined this phrase but it is a universal truth about life as a human.
Everyday there are changes in our life. Many of us have routines that we have become accustomed to. Each morning we have a routine of making coffee, checking our text messages, then getting the kids ready for school while also getting ourselves ready. Many of us it’s a finely tuned machine.
But, there’s always something that slightly changes our plans. The kids don’t get ready in time causing you to be slightly behind schedule. When you finally get on the road there is traffic for no reason. Then you realize you are dangerously low on gas and will need to find a gas station before you hit empty. These are just the simply the complexities of life.
But each day is different. We are constantly faced with change. The big changes are the ones we really notice.
Where you are today is not where you were five years ago.
When Matt Ribaudo founded BostonMan Magazine he had a vision and a dream but he was faced with daily challenges. Before he came back to Boston he was in Philadelphia in a completely different business.
That was a HUGE change. Faced with uncertainty. Wondering how it will all work out. He faced challenge and change every day.
Five years later things still change but he had built a community, a group of like-minded people who lift each other up every day. Business deals have been consummated. Friendships have been formed.
All of this during constant change and challenge (I mean COVID?)
Sometimes those changes and challenges may have seemed fatal and from the outside looking in most would agree. But Matt Ribaudo embraced the change in his life both personally and professionally and has made it to this moment. As an entrepreneur who has known him for twenty years I’m proud to call him a friend.
Change is constant. Change is scary. Challenges come up every day, but if you are willing to embrace the change. Adapt, persevere and grow. You will find that the constant change is also the most stable thing in your life.
As he has said many times, in many places around this city over the last five years, “Some people see things as they are and ask ‘why?’ I dream things that never were and say ‘why not?’’
Congratulations Matt, I’m proud of you.
